We have been members at the Genesee Valley Club since we moved back to Rochester in 1999. From the moment we walked into the Club during a very busy lunch hour, we have felt welcomed. The staff always warmly greets us and our children by our names and makes us feel so at home. We truly enjoy all aspects of the Club and we love the seasonal menus in each of the various dining areas. All six of us use the Club regularly. We enjoy the Friday Social Hour during the fall, winter and spring; the social gatherings on Friday evenings for paddle tennis during the fall and winter; and tennis during the summer months. We take advantage of the Fitness Area and all the Group Exercise classes available. We have all learned to play squash, pickleball and our four children have learned to play tennis. Both John and I have standing weekly tennis matches on the indoor courts during the winter season and outdoor courts in the summer. Pool time is probably when we spend the most time at the GVC which is hard to believe considering how often we are there during the rest of the year. Summer is especially beautiful on the both terraces with the service and food available while dining al fresco. We use the pool most days if the weather permits. The pool patio is quiet and relaxing. The lifeguards are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. My favorite activity in the summer is to read poolside because the tranquil atmosphere cannot be beat in Rochester. The central location of the Club makes it a natural meeting point between picking up our kids, their school activities and Rochester's night life. The Genesee Valley Club is truly a gem of Rochester. My use of the club has been primarily, but not exclusively, for business reasons. Whether it be hosting business meetings, large employee or client gatherings, or participating in the very special club events—the experience is always world class. My guests invariably comment on the truly great time they have when invited to GVC and how much they look forward to being invited back! A common theme among the comments I receive is the appreciation for excellent food and the amazing staff. On a personal basis, my wife and I enjoy coming to the club for dinner and various special events (many wine related!). Our four-year old boys have been so comfortable in the summer camps and children's programs over the past few years. They are able to take advantage of the tennis facilities, pool, playground and Child Watch Playroom. The Club Staff are professionals who are at the Club year-round, so the children form warm, trusting relationships with their caretakers while enjoying sport and fun. Personally, I am happy because I get to enjoy all the new fitness facilities without worrying about the kids. I bring my two-year old daughter to the Child Watch Room a few days a week to engage socially with friends during fitness classes or tennis lessons. Daytime activities are always fun at the Club, but what we enjoy the most are our evenings at the Valley Club. Whether it be an anniversary dinner in the Red Grill, a date night in the Armstrong Grill, or a family-friendly event such as the Halloween Boo-fet, our family is always more than satisfied. The Genesee Valley Club is the premier dining club in Rochester. Special events are made magical with long-time Maitre d' Genaro Felix. He has hosted our wedding, baby namings, and many business events flawlessly. Our guests are always blown away by the hospitality, making memories that last a lifetime. Any young family would feel at home at the Genesee Valley Club. Children's activities, sports and fitness, and the dining experience, make it the perfect Club for everyone in the family to enjoy.
